Celebrate Personal Finance Month: Join Our Personal Finance Bootcamp!

Get your brain muscles warmed-up for this year’s Personal Finance Bootcamp. This one-day bootcamp will cover the six National Standards in Personal Finance Education which include saving, earning income, spending, investing, managing credit, and managing risk. The bootcamp is broken up into two sessions, a morning session and an afternoon session. The John Morton Excellence in the Teaching of Economics Awards honor teachers of any subject who use exemplary teaching techniques that improve their students’ economic understanding, in and out of the classroom. Annually an award of $1,000 is given to one teacher in each of the following categories: Elementary (Grades K-5), Middle/Junior High (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12). On This Day in Economic History

June 07 1955

On this day in 1955, CBS unveiled the quiz show The $64,000 Question that took the American viewing audience by storm and caused the creation of droves of spin-offs. The success of the show that made CBS millions was short-lived; in 1958 the FCC discovered that contestants were provided answers to the questions beforehand. This scandal caused the television networks to pull their quiz shows from the air.
